SuSE Linux ckuid/ckgid command equivalents

I'm looking for commands equivalent to the ckuid/ckgid in Solaris or getuic/getuid in UnixWare. The Linux "id" command can possibly substitute for ckuid but that still leaves ckgid. These commands also need to work in a NIS environment. Any ideas? Thanks!

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

The id command has -g, -G options for groups.
That should do it?

NIS is not an issue because it’s handled inside
section 2 of the manuals. It should just work,
provided the tool you use calls getpwent() or
similar. Any decent tool will.

‘id’ is inside the ‘coreutils’ distribution if
you want to compile it yourself.
