SUSE Enterprise 9 / pure-ftp

Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, SUSE Linux Standard Server

I am attempting to run pure-ftp. Every time I start it in YAST it fails with a run code of 7. At times it will run and then when I refresh it stops with a 3.

I have the group and user setup. The config looks right. Everything appears as it should.

Does anyone know of any issues?

I going out of town and want to be able to update some html files remotely. Was thinking this was the best way.

Thanks

I'd rather use ssh for that task, much safer than throwing passwords all over the place in the clear, and much more firewall friendly (just one port). And with sftp you can even use KDE apps for in-place editting. Not quite, files go to the local tmp for the real edit, but they are sent back on save.
