Shutdown procedure
Greetings fellow Programmers & Such, It seems that the company I work for doesn't have a Sunday Shutdown procedure in place. I offered to write it because I thought it'd be interested. I was wondering if anyone had any input or advice they could lend me regarding safety procedures, subsystems being shutdown seperately, or closing QSTRUP program stuff. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Code On. A2E884E88AA89884D8A892A 12385028133595409155521

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

If you’re going to create a startup program after a scheduled shutdown, it would be best to view what jobs are active on your system during the week to determine what needs to be started. WRKSBS will display the current active subsystems, check for third party software running in its own subsystem in particular. You may also want to include certain printers to start up as well as any web services (i.e. websphere, http admin, etc.).

A lot would depend on your system (hardware and OS). Mainframes [almost] never shut down. PCs shut down all of the time. Some particulars might help you get an answer.

Well we have a QSTRUP program that pretty much just starts certain subsystems, executes the STRCLNUP command, starts the TCP/IP Server and calls a few programs. We're running BPCS 6.02 so I think there's 2 startup programs that run for that.
