Sum rows of data in an Access query

I want to sum rows of data in an access query. Everytime I run the query, it does return any values when there are values there. so I want to "column 1" +"column 2" + "column 3" and then get a returned in result in a new column.

SELECT COLUMN1, COLUMN2, COLUMN3, (COLUMN1+COLUMN2+COLUMN3) TOTAL FROM TABLE_EXAMPLE
GROUP BY COLUMN1, COLUMN2, COLUMN3
