Suggestions for centralized network logging

At our department, we're creating a distributed application (which would be across several machines on a LAN). We don't want to send log files locally for each machine (that would fill up the disks) so we're looking to centralize logging over the network. Most of the files won't be important so a UDP is fine for them but there are some very important alerts that must be delivered. But we're worried about congesting the network too much. Here's what we came up with so far:
  • SYSLOG
  • SCRIBE
  • Using a message like RABBITMQ
  • Write our own
Does anyone have any other suggestions? What other centralized logging solution are out there?
