    Why I accepted ip add like 172.16.3.57..... u copied what u got on ur assignment ! just guessing.... however search on the net / read some IT related mags/ books definitely u will get  ur answer.

    But this information can help below:
    Your IP Address is belong to Class B, it means that if having 11 bits for subnet, it has 16 + 11 = 27 bits for mask.
    The range is: 172.16.3.33 - 172.16.3.62
    The broadcast is: 172.16.3.63

    Also, Class D is for multicast IP address. You can use wikipedia for correction.
