It will be easier to use the download from CLient Access. First, make sure that you have installed the download capability. Then:
1. click on the download button from the Client Access screen. This opens up the Data Transfer screen.
2. click File, Properties. check the Convert CCSID 65535 and click OK.
3. Make sure your system name is filled in, click in the file name box and specify your file as LIBRARY/PHYSICALFILE(MEMBER) or click the Browse button and get to the file member that way. If you don’t see the library, then type in in the file name box.
4. Make sure File is selected as the Output Device and specify the PC FolderFile Name
5. Finally, click on the Transfer Data button.
When the transfer is done, you can email the file as an attachment to your vendor.
Hope this helps.

thank you all for the input. As I stated in my question i am not familiar with using pdm, well neither is the person helping me out. all she wanted from pdm is for me to view the files to see if data was present, which there wasn’t and i told her this in the beginning. I tried the ca transfer utility and i received messages stating there was no data!! we have to run an update in the software to populate the files, then i can download them using the transfer utility.
thank you
