Q:
STP Altn BLK port is green
Can any one tell me why the block port, which I thoght should be amber, is green?  I have 2 x 2950 swtiches and 2 x 3550 swtich, all initial config (no config), connected to each other with cross cables. Everything seems to work as it should when check with IOS display, but all ports are green, even with the blocked ones, that should be amber. Thanks /SUPOTE

Thanks for your mail Michael.

That’s correct. I have two S2950 and two S3550 all are Cisco’s.
In fact, I did not type in any command yet. All switches, as mentioned, started
as clean-config. Thay are only just powered-on, then I connect each of them
to other three with 2 cables.

I thought that some of the port must be in BLK state (and yes they were) and
I should see them in “Amber.” But I just saw all green.

Is that normal?
