I'm new to stored procedures. I learned how to create and now I want to learn, how to debug the stored procedure when called from java client application. On which AS/400 job can I start the debug, so that if some action is being performed on the client application, I can have the break point triggered it in my AS400. -Var

Using the RSC GUI interface this is I believe possible. From the Green Screen .. the problem is that each request gets a different interactive job.. I usually put a dump in the program where I need to know what is happening.

Simplest is to issue a SQL CALL statement in interactive SQL. Just use normal debugging. If the stored proc works correctly in STRSQL but not through Java, then it's the Java that needs debugging. (Most often because of mismatched parameter data types, but other issues are possible.) . If necessary, general service entry point debugging should work. It's not really different from any other service job debugging. . Tom
