Storage VMotion
I am reorganizing the datastores for DR replication. Problem is I have a couple of servers that have a data drive on different data store than the vmx file. When I tryo to move the vm to another datastore it wants to drag the data drive with it. How can I storage vmotion the vm server from one data store to another without moving the associated data drive?
Ex: VM server on DS1 with large data drive on DS4. Want to storage vmotion VM server to DS2 while the data drive remains on DS4.

Answer Wiki:
You need to put the wizard into advanced mode so that you can control the destination of each file. Otherwise all the files will be put into the same location. On the screen in the wizard where you can select the data store to move the VM to, click the advanced button.
