Static Routes

Routing and switching, VLAN, Cisco Catalyst 500, Cisco 2801, Routers, Switches, Cisco

We have a remote location comunicated with our headquarters by antennas, using 2 vlans, one for the data and one for the voice. We recently adquiring an E1 with our ISP and need to split up the traffic in order to balance charges. We have a 2801 Cisco router in the remote site and a Catalyst 500 switch. Can I make a static route from the vlan1 to the ethernet interface of the router?

You should use QOS and COS on this link. This will permit the voice traffic to consume only a portion of the E1 bandwidth. The VLAN's should have the router as their gateway of last resort if that is where all non-local traffic should be routed.
