 SQL SERVER SAN Setup
I do not know much about SAN's, I want to setup a SQL Server to use a SAN.

1. Should I use a SAN drive to install the OS or is it best practice to install the OS on a local drive on the server?

2. Should I install SQL SERVER on the SAN or on a local drive on the server?

Software/Hardware used:
SQL SERVER 2005, SAN

Answer Wiki:
Typically people will install the OS and the SQL Server binaries (the .exe files) on local disk and not SAN disk. SAN disks are a lot more expensive than local disks so you usually don't want to waste SAN disk for the OS.
