Not sure what's going on here. I created the following query to produce quantity results by month:

SELECT CONCAT( MONTHNAME(published) , ' ' , YEAR(published)) AS monthyear,
COUNT(*) AS total
FROM blog_articles
WHERE status = 'Online' AND Year(published) = 2013
GROUP BY CONCAT( MONTHNAME(published) , ' ' , YEAR(published))

I expected to see the following:
March 2013 103
April 2013 87
May 2013 23
June 2013 99

But got this:

ᶃᶑᵯᵱ¥ỮὯᵯ 1

How can I get rid of the funny characters and have English instead?
