One of my family members needs some help! He has a table in SQL Server 2008 with the attributes name and ID. The ID is a generated value like this:
 INSERT INTO table (name) VALUES('bob');
Now, he's looking to get back the ID in the same step. How can he do this?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

He should be able to accomplish that by adding an OUTPUT clause.
