I have to install both SQL server 2005 and SQL server 2008 in order to use CRM software and a financial software. After chatting with the financial software support & the CRM guys I understood I have to have both versions on my network since each needs its own version of SQL server and does not work well with the other.
I did some research, and from what I understand there is no problem running the two versions on the same machine. However, in this post here
, the author states that there might be a performance issue.
My question is: For performance' sake :) Can I install each version on a different machine - In a way that "computer A" will be installed with SQL Server 2008 and function as a server for the CRM software And "computer B" - on same network will be installed with SQL server 2005 and function as a server for the Financial software?
