Quick Ques. Are transaction logs cummulative? If I have a database set to Full recovery mode; database being backed once a day and transaction logs being backed up hourly, if the database needs to be restored, can I just restore the last transaction log file? Will the last transaction log file contain ALL of the transactions since the last database backup?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

No, transaction log files are not cumulative. When you restore the database you have to restore the most recent full backup, then restore all log backups from the full backup to the most recent log backup.
