SQL Server administration
Hi, We have a server in which windows 2003 is installed and we have created users in the domain (eg - aaa). The server is installed with sql server 2000 and data is stored in the database. The user name for the server is administrator. The problem is when we login from the user computer as the same name and password as server we are able to see the sql server running with the server db . But when we login from the user computer in user account as "aaa" the sql server is not running with the server name. What should solve this problem . Pls help Thanks, Radha

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

That is normal. The user aaa doesn’t have the rights needed to see if the service is running or not. The user would need to try to connect to the SQL Server to see if it is running. In order to see if the SQL Server is running the user would need to have very high level permissions on the server which isn’t recommended.
