When you see the query results, is this ‘special’ character there ?
What is that special character exactly ?
What do you mean by ‘refreshed the DB server’ ?

“Installed”? What did you install? Are you referring to a new install of SQL Server on a new system?

Carlosdl’s first question is most important, and it still needs to be answered.
