sql 2008 export to txt for backup and incremental backup

Hi

i have one db that i want to back up, so thought id export to txt file/flat file then back that up and then daily increments into that file?

cant find the steps to do it..have the wizard..

You’ll want to use the BACKUP DATABASE command to backup the database to a .BAK file. You can them backup this file up to tape as needed. You can use the SQL Agent to create a job to backup the database every day.

If you need point in time recovery you’ll need to also schedule transaction log backups. If you don’t need point in time recovery you can change the database recovery from FULL to SIMPLE.
