Q:
SQL 2000 & Outlook 2000
We have a couple of SQL 2K Servers which have a mailbox associated with them, have always used Outlook 2000 because anything newer does not work and today it has gone wrong!!!

We are now getting a "Cannot open the mailbox, information store not available"

we cannot get the server to work with email and this is causing some problems for us!!

Any help would be great

Thanks

What changes were made to the Exchange server recently? You may simple need to restart the SQL Server service (with outlook closed if you are logged into the server) so that it can recreate all the connections to Exchange.

A reboot of the SQL Server may also be required.

Hi There, thanks for your help - this problem was resolved in teh following way:

Set all SQL Services to manual
Reboot server and log on with administrative account
Rename user profile with problem
Log on as problem user to recreate profile
Restart SQL Services
Reset-up outlook

This problem was a corrupt profile - we had previously tried the suggestion you made with no success!!

Thanks for your help
