I have 2 Sonicwalls and have created a VPN between them. From the remote site you can access all the computers and files at the main office. From the main office you cannot ping or connect to any computer at the remote location. This VPN needs to be two way. There are workgroups at each location with different names. The Sonicwall at the main office is a All computers are running WindowsXP SP2. Have tried turning off all firewalls at the remote site but still cannot connect. Can connect between computers at the remote site with no problem. Can ping the LAN side of the remote Sonicwall from the main office. I am at an impass as to what is going on. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure your firewall permits bi-directional ICMP (ping/tracert) traffic. Just because routing works one way, does not always mean that it will work the other way. Check the routing tables at both ends. What is the default gateway on the clients at the main office? Is there a routing path defined from those clients to the Sonicwall and then to the remote office?
