    As u wish to become a SW developer, better if u can do MCSD/ MCAD or u can acquire Sun certified Java programmer, though u did not reveal that, on which software u want to do the same.... if u r fresher, best to do cert on Java.

    You need to talk with some at a college or university to see what courses are offered. They will also be able to quiz you to assist you into getting into the area that your talents are best suited.
    You should also talk with a job requiter to find out what jobs are the most available and what current salary ranges are at this time.
    The best and highest paying jobs may not necessarily be in your current location. You may have to consider relocating.
