SMTP routing groups

IT architecture

Hi there,

I am running exchange 2000 on four different servers, we have 2 domains
and three of these servers are in 1 domain and one other server is sitting
on its own domain.

THe routing group status on the server in HQ is set to unreachable for all
groups. One more thing, emails between the HQ & 1 branch isn't flowing
out, whereas everything else is working.Email sits on the queue
(Destination Unreachable" but once I restart the SMTP service on the
Exchange server in HQ, email starts flowing out and then stops again after
15 minutes...

Please assist...

Try the EXBPA http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/downloads/2003/exbpa/default.mspx

Run a connectivity test. Try to telnet from and to hq on port 25 and 691. Run dcdiag on your domain controllers.
Do you use a smart host to route mail or do you use DNS?

Hi there,

With regards to this, I am sorted out, I only needed to update the link state on all my exchange server. I shutted down all the exchange services including the WMI services on all servers and restarted them at once and used Winroute and everything came out fine.

THanks for your support…
