 SMTP Address as Login ID in exchange
Exchange 2003, SMTP
Hi i have exchagen server 2003. what my questin is, I used mail.local as my domain name and Updated Default Proxy address to match my external domain name which working fine with @abc.com (Example) Now i would like to know is there any way where users can access email using login ID as there external SMTP address. I.e users can login with there domain name id i.e user@mail.local what i am expecting is is there any where where user can login with user@abc.om (external SMTP address) to access ows /POP/ IMAP / Mapi. Please let me know is there any option to change this. Thanking you In advance.

Updated on 11/15/07 by Wrobinson: You need to add the additional UPN suffix in AD for the users (see <a href="http://support.microsoft.com/kb/243629">Add UPN Suffixes to a Forest</a>. In addition to "UPN Suffixes" you need to go to exchange management and choose the desired user then go to account tab and specify the domain you want to enable as login. You can even change the login name, for example if you have hiwa.afandi@mail.local you can change it to webmaster@abc.net What are you trying to do? Users can use their FQDN in their username login if they want user@fqdn.com. My Answer: My Actual domain name is @mail.local, Users can login to owa with user@mail.local.. But what i am expecting is. I updated my Primary SMTP address as my external domain name i.e user@abc.com. all users are able to loing with Internla FQDN (i.e user@mail.local), what i am expecting is to loing user with Primary SMTP address which i canged in Reciepent policy to take effect (i.e user@abc.com) Let me know if you still have any doutbs
