I use MPLUS from Bytware.
It’s affordable and it’s replaced my need to log into the AS400 to status checks during the day.
I get emails, pages, txt messages 24/7 and I can customize for shifts, days, escalations lists, etc.

What I ‘m accuratetly looking for is :
1.The requirements (Hardware/software) to send SMS from AS/400;
2. A mean to communicate with SMS modem, for exemple is there commands to insert in a CL program .

If you can send an e-mail from your AS/400 then you can send an SMS message. Just send the message to the phone number at <a href="http://whatever.com" title="http://whatever. " target="_blank">whatever.com</a>:
T-Mobile: <a href="mailto:phonenumber@tmomail.net" title="mailto:phonenumber@tmomail.net">phonenumber at tmomail.net</a>
Virgin Mobile: <a href="mailto:phonenumber@vmobl.com" title="mailto:phonenumber@vmobl.com">phonenumber at vmobl.com</a>
Cingular: <a href="mailto:phonenumber@cingularme.com" title="mailto:phonenumber@cingularme.com">phonenumber at cingularme.com</a>
Sprint: <a href="mailto:phonenumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com" title="mailto:phonenumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com">phonenumber at messaging.sprintpcs.com</a>
Verizon: <a href="mailto:phonenumber@vtext.com" title="mailto:phonenumber@vtext.com">phonenumber at vtext.com</a>
Nextel: <a href="mailto:phonenumber@messaging.nextel.com" title="mailto:phonenumber@messaging.nextel.com">phonenumber at messaging.nextel.com</a>
I got that from this page:
