 slow win xp login to 2003 domain
i have windows 2003 domain with 30 windows xp clients and 300 users. when my clients login to domain they are logging very slow to domain taking at least 3 minutes to have users desktop .i dont have DNS configured and i dont need that are there any server side configurations required.i pointed win xp's to server IP address but still not got solutions.i am using all settings as default. so please suggest me any solutions solutions. --dnyaneshvar

I have seen a similar problem when not using DNS with AD. After configuring the clients primary DNS serve to be that of the AD Server they sped right through. You should also notice on those clients that the policies and scripts are not running reliably. They need that DNS server configured for logins to function properly.
