 SID Ultlity for Windows
Hello All: Does anyone know of a utility that can take a SID-id and resolve it to either a user or group for a local SAM or AD? If located in AD showing the location path would be nice. Thanks RWJ

Shavlik Account Inspector is only free to government agencies. For corporate usage, it’s really quite expensive although very useful.

Free tools for SID/Name translation can be found on Joe Richards’ site: http://joeware.net

This is the direct link: http://joeware.net/win/free/tools/sidtoname.htm

Also Sysinternals have a free utility called PSGetSid, which is excellent too.
