 SID showing after restore
NAS, NAS backup, SID, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server backup
i want backup files From NAS (W2k3 Storage Server) and restore to w2k3 Server (enterprise) . Backup Runs well and when i have resttored the files on the Target Server (w2k3 Server Enterprise )i get a access denied.Looking at the security tab , ACLS shown correctly for all groups (including domain groups) except for local adminisrtator whose SID is only shown (s-1-5-21-1516925467-3236379928-68625751-500).How do i get around this. I tried backup and restore files from w2k3 Server to NAS it works beautifully (no access Denied). i have also tried using Secure Copy (trial) but get the same problem Please Help

Try navigating to the file in question, and then taking ownership as administrator. Once that's done, you should be able to reset the permissions. Bob
