If it doesn’t, you have to create it before it can be edited. Use the CRTSRCPF command to create a source physical file. If it’s a physical do a DSPFD and check the maximum members value. If this is a source file, how are you trying to add it?does it already exist? check the file authority and see if you are authorized to make additions. just a few suggestions.
