should i go for unix administration without doing mcse


Certifications, MCSE, Unix, Microsoft certifications, Linux certifications

Dear sir,

I have done my diploma in 2006.After that i am doing job as a desktop engg.Now i am working i on project with EDS (Electronic data System).i have basic knowledge of network and Dns Dhcp Active directory,I am getting a salary of 10K per month.My friend told me you should do unix administration.I just want to know carrier in unix is good or not and should i deirectly join the unix administration course without doing mcse.will it better for me Kindly guide me.

Hello Gaurav Nijhawan,
for choosing you have to consider
1 - MCSE is more "market" enabled because many companies have Microsoft systems, but this also means lots of competitors and probably less salary because of high offer
2 - *nix means more restricted area for jobs but higher salary
Everything is up to you.
