No, MCSA and CCNA are offered by two different vendors – MCSA is the microsoft’s way and the CCNA is the cisco’s way – it depends what exactly are you interested in and where do you see yourself in 10 years?

If i were, i would have done enough research to know which one i should be going with – I wanted to become a cisco network expert so i started with CCNA but when i stepped into the professional world i had to do MCITP to provide support.

    MCSA is an entry level job cert for IT environment/ validates expertise in system administering network/ system environments while CCNA cert is an entry level for totally network program/ engineers. MCSA basically deals with Software part, while CCNA deals deals maximum with hardware parts. Of course any certification has its own value and working area. Though it is not so important to do CCNA prior, but options are there, if you have enough time/ money also.
