A new SearchHealthIT mobile health trends survey shows that while Apple's iOS operating system is still the most commonly used in healthcare, other mobile operating systems may be creating more decisions for CIOs. Should healthcare companies enforce standardization on one OS within their organization to streamline communications and data transfer, or is there value in allowing employees to use an OS with which they are comfortable?

I think standardizing on one OS would be about as easy (and successful) as standardizing on one political party. To me, the best approach is for management to get more on board with IT and help make some decisions involving BYOD. IT alone cannot weather the culture/political storm surrounding this.
