I used WinXP Pro to create a shortcut on a network drive, then checked properties from this laptop and opened the file fine.
&#160;
In my case, this is on a segment of my home network. There is no significant &quot;setup&quot; that was done for these devices. It&#039;s simple workgroup networking on this segment for these three devices -- the WinXP, the network drive and this laptop.
&#160;
So, maybe it&#039;s not an issue of &quot;setup&quot;, but rather of lack of restrictions. I haven&#039;t done any significant testing since it worked on the first simple test.
