Shifting of server room (data center)
We are expanding our seating capacity and hence we are evaluating the feasibility of shifting our server room (with domain server, exchange server and other file servers) to next building (the building with new office). But we won't be vacating the old office. Both premises are located opposite to each other and we want connectivity in both buildings using the same servers. The epbx of this this building will reside over here only as we got another epbx in the other building. Earlier our other offices were connected through leased lines but now these offices are located nearby hence we are looking for a permanent solution. Please help me out by suggesting the feasible options. Should we look for VPN or Laser link or Fiber optics cable will be sufficient. The seating capacity of the old office will remain below 100. The data accessibility and speed is required in connections.

Answer Wiki:
Fiber optics would be optimal. Does anyone offer metro-ethernet in the area? Also consider a broadband carrier common amongst both buildings, such as Comcast business class at both buildings and but a VPN in place.  This would likely be the most bang for the buck.

Are these buildings in the same office park?  If so the building management may have fiber between the buildings that you can use for free or cheap.  Just connect the fiber to your switches and the offices are both on the same network.
