Hi, I'm sorry if I had chosen the wrong recipient. I am running Windows 2000. When I open my browser (IE 6.0) I get this:

res://shdocpv.dll/blank.htm
Or

res://C:WinntSystem32shdocpv.dllsecurity.htm

Please help me to get rid of this. Thanks!

Download HijackThis 1.99.1 (http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip)

Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:Program FilesHJT

Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the ZIP file as your backups will not be safely stored.

Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following: your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

Run HijackThis and save your log file. Go to one of the free web hosting sites (geocities, angelfire, etc) and post the log as a text file (don’t post the log here — just the link to the text file).

This one’s fairly new, so it might take a bit of work to get rid of it.

    Good day Cuser02,

I have read your question about how to get rid of that virus... Just so happens I decided that I will help you with this problem as distorying virus is one of my most favorite things to do.. That is not going to work for you you do have a browser hijacker yes but its also a injecter.. to get rid of this one I would go with something like but not limited to doing...

1, AVG ( FREE VERSION ) this is a anti virus that always updates on its own.

2, Hitman Pro, this is a anti-virus that is a midum streght anti virus with a lot of butt kicking power...

3, Iobit, this is one VERY POWERFUL anti malware, and anti virus and might be over kill.. This has a anti virus piggy backing Iobit malware fighter... both work together and are very powerful...

4, Malware Bytes Anti Malware.. also known as MBAM, this is one powerful anti -malware programs out there that seeks out and distorys malware, spyware, and such. "Note, this is not a anti virus."
