Can anyone suggest SharePoint alternatives? We have a need for collaboration on products, tracking documents related to the products, attaching and tracking invoices, and sharing with other internal business teams.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

My recommendation for a Microsoft SharePoint alternative would be Drupal (www.drupal.org) and open source (free) Content Management Platform that can be used to achieve the business goals that you have described. A quick way and easy way to get started with Drupal is to download and install a fully functioning environment from BitNami at http://bitnami.org/stack/drupal. We used BitNami and Drupal to stand up a fully functional Intranet KnowledgeBase with document tracking without needing to spend money on Microsoft SharePoint. Check out Drupal and let others know if it works for you.

Dear Wojo2012, Good day! There are many alternatives to Microsoft Sharepoint and one of the best alternatives is Alfresco. It doest not only contain features of sharepoint, but it also comes with Opentext and documentum. It also help you with document management, record setting, web content management, and attaching and tracking invoices and transactions. You may visit http://www.techyv.com/article/microsoft-sharepoint for more information. Thanks, Kathy

One of the broadest cloud based sharepoint alternatives around is HyperOffice - intranet spaces, document and project management, wikis, calendars, email, workflows etc etc. Check it out - http://www.hyperoffice.com/sharepoint-alternative/

FMYI [for my innovation] is a great alternative for SharePoint. Very user friendly, more affordable, flexibility, free support and provides functionality that would fully meet your needs listed above and goes well beyond that as well without getting complicated. Here is a breakdown you may find useful: http://www.fmyi.com/blog/sharepoint-alternative/ Good luck finding a solution that works best for you!
