Sharepoint 3.0 website no longer working after Windows updates installed
We have an Intranet site that was set up in SharePoint 3.0. Over the weekend windows updates were installed, specifically KB2687442.
Now my Intranet site does not work. When I try and run the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard it fails at step 9 with the following error :
Failed to upgrade SharePoint Products and Technologies
An exception of type System.InvalidOperationException was thrown. Additional exception information: Cannot start service SPAdmin on computer '.'.
When I try and start the Windows SharePoint services administration service manually it fails to start.
When I look in the windows event log there are errors in the application log about SQL exceptions
