Where can I go to setup shared folders on Windows 7? Is it similar to XP?

It is very similar, you can share through right clicking the folder and using the ‘Share With’ menu (usually used for homegroups).

If you are on a domain you may need to go into the properties and to the ‘Sharing’ tab to implement this.

My friend it will be much more easier to go to the computer management console and then navigate to the shared folders section, right click on shares and select new share, that’s something handy microsoft did for us IT guys, its a wizard designed to automate the creation of shared folders in specified locations after make sure to set correct permissions though
