AS/400 service program
I have created 2 modules, ModuleA and ModuleB and created a Service program from that. I have bound this service program to another program which uses procedure in the moduleB. I ran the program and it gives the result. Now I delete the service program. Even after deletion, it still works. May I know how this is happening?

I believe service programs stay memory resident until the system is rebooted.

You meant it works as a bind by copy after the first reference?

If you pay me more I'll be considerably faster.

I'm not sure I can answer your question, I was hoping someone smart would respond, but they didn't.

Answers to your question -- (these are all guesses)

    1.  Yes after the first reference within a job it would act like a bound program.

    2.  Once Called the Service Program stays loaded for calls from any job or program.

    3.  Deleting the object would not delete the loaded version.  Maybe a reclaim resourcses or a power down sys would.

    Hi,

1.- SrvPgms are unloaded at job's end or activation group's end
2.- If the program was bound by copy, a copy of module is inserted in program so, it will run even after srvpgm deletion.
