Q:
Setup VPN from work to Home
Hello Everyone,

My VP of the company wants to setup a VPN. He wants to be able to take
Iomega 150d NAS drive home it has it own ip address and be able to do
the backups at home off site to the Iomega 150d, but the server is at
work.

We have 2 netgear pro safe 24 port switches/ 1 netgear pro safe VPN
firewall and for the router we have a Linksys wireless G 2.4 . Our T1
line is with calalier

Can anyone guide me on how to set this up?

Thanks,

Mace

You can setup an IPSec VPN connection from your firewall or router to his home router. You would have to purchase a VPN home router that is capable of establishing the VPN connection. Then your VP's home network will be a part of your company network. You need to do what you can to reduce port and IP access from that network as there are security ramifications to consider.

I set up my home machine twith a VPN connection to the outside IP address at work, then remote desktop to the inside server IP once the VPN is running. I didn’t need to use any additional equipment, other than what I already had on my home system (running Vista).
