we want the same desktop, browser settings and screen saver on all Windows XP, 2000 Pro and Windows 7 computers. Can we do this using group policy? What settings need to be tweaked or do we need to set it up on an existing machine and clone the settings?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

user config settings for the desktop are in :
user settings/control panel/display
user settings/desktop/active desktop

browser settings are in computer config/administrative settings/windows components/internet explorer
user config /administrative settings/windows components/internet explorer

there are also other client side preferences that can be used with Windows 7 and XP if it is configured.
