WORKING ON THE BASICS.

1 My web server is a GV-ITIC01, a single camera web server.

   2 My Router is a Westel327 wireless.

In setting up the configuration of the routers ports... I am trying a variety of configurations in order to get a connection outside my router on a laptop.  Westel the mfg of the router does not provide tech support to public and the Verizon Expert Help techs have little to no experience in the router configuration for IP set up and web cast connections.  The Samsung GVI tech support can and is ready and willing to help with the configuration of the  server... but has no detailed knowledge in the configurations of the Westel router.  Not to be discouraged... the more I work with and experiment with the configurations the more I learn through a process of elimination. :)  I can never do so much damage to the configurations on the router that a default reset doesn't put me back in full operational status...

My first question would be...  getting off of port 80... usually designated to the base Http port... I am setting up the server to operate on 81.  In a router would that be considered the global port or host port?  as the  router lists Golbal Ports start and end  as well as Host port.  The server has 3 streaming ports which are for control, audio and video.  I am having diffuculty knowing in the router how to configure the streaming channel ports...  If the streaming ports are to be configured as global ports in the routers set up... I could either list each streaming port individually or as a group from 5001 to 5003...
