Setting up domain names for use in Exchange 2010
I have recently installed Exchange server 2010 on my 64bit Server 2008 and the whole thing went smoothly. I have to say...there is way too much to configure to just install it.... what happened to the good old "Straight out the box"? Anyways, this is my first real personal experience of installing and using Exchange in my own home environment and have some questions which I need some help answering if someone has a few moments to spare! Now that exchange is installed and everything appears all fine, I would like to add and begin using some domain names for email and would like to know in very very basic instructions how to do this in Exchange 2010. I have tried to use the MS help guides online but I am just not understanding all of what is mentioned and so I quit and reverse what I did as I dont want to screw up and have to install this all over again. Guys you know how it is when you want to do something right the first time around. I would love for someone to just have a few simply instructions on how to add my domains and how to prepare them for mail on the exchange server including adding mailboxes for existing users. Many thanks

Software/Hardware used:
Windows Server 2008 64bit and MS Exchange 2010

If I read your question correctly, this is what you are looking for: Link: http://www.servolutions.com/support/config_exchange_2010.htm Also something that is missed in most articles is that you must remember to adjust your firewall on your router or modem. Setting up port forwarding on the router etc is also a good idea.

Thank Aquacer.

I have now manager to setup and can now view OWA not only internally but also externally. However, I am not getting any mail at all from any type of external source. I can send without any problems, but just not getting any mail at all from the outside world.

Can anyone assist with a direction of where to check and what should I be looking for exactly. I have checked all over the internet but no-one is able to really give me direction.

Thanks
