Q:
Setting up a wireless configuration
I want to set up a wireless connection between 2 computer and want to know if I need a router if both computers are set up for wireless connections? If I do do I need to connect to the internet with the router? If so, can I do this using my cell phone as a modem? And lastly what is an access point?

Two systems with wireless connectivity can connect by ad hoc without a router. You do not need to use your cell phone either. An access point is a device that allows wireless communication devices to connect to an exisiting wireless network. Wireless "hot spots" such as Starbucks cafes and other businesses use access points so customers can connect wirelessly while in their store. Here is a more complete description of both of these.
