What have your successes been setting up Project Management Office? Can anyone give tips or suggestions?

35+years in IT and have yet to work for a company that had one in place. Most project were assigned by the manager to a staff member and they would sometimes have to give a weekly update to make sure the project did not stall. Maybe they are used in larger companies but Currently I for for the corporate office and we support over 30 different product divisions and we still do not use one.

    What type of PMO you wanted to establish that is not revealed here. It depends on you or your team members that, once determined the purpose of the PMO & what it is to achieve you then need to prepare a PMO implementation plan.
