Setting Default Printers in Oracle Reports
hi sirs,
I m working in Reports 6i. My question is that suppose in a client machine they have more than one printer suppose one is dotmatrix and other one is lezer printer. I have created two reports first one is character based and second one is bitmap. When i want to print these reports for character mode report i have select the dot metrix printer and for bit map i have to select lazer printer. Default to Reports runtime will choose the default printer set by the client in there system. So Is there any code or facility in oracle reports 6i to select printers autometically in reports run time so that user don't have to change the printer and just giving a print command he will be able to print character reports in dotmetrix and bitmap in lazer.

just type printer name ( system parameters desname initial value =your printer name )
Just be sure that if you are calling this report from forms that you don't override your desired parameters in the form.
