Setting column limit entries in SQL

Hi I need to expand the column limit entry in SQL. Can anyone help? Example: defauld column limit is 1032. I would like to expand it to 5000. I will appreciate any help. Thanks!

Are you using a database other than SQL Server?

SQL Server has a hard limit of 1024 columns per table as shown on this web page. It is not adjustable.

If you have a table which is that wide you may need to look at making the table narrower. Having a table that wide usually isn’t required.
