Answer Wiki:
Hi Deanatscout, We need some more info about your environment. Can you please inform what is the motherboard in question? Does it support 2GB of RAM? Considering it supports and from my experience, those beeps might be related to memory speed. The speed of your new RAM is probably different (higher) than the motherboard supports. Also, if you are mixing different RAM modules, they might have different speed ratios. Please post back with some more info. HTH

Usually if it beeps like that, you have the wrong memory or are mixing wrong types of memory.

If possible, full computer conf post here ! viz, Mother board, Ram type, how many slots, processor with speed, OS type, Model no and vendor name like HP, Intel, blah blah…..

As ingram mentioned the beep is either wrong memory/mixing types or might even be a faulty module or modules?

Have you tried a different module?

not only that, most of the time servers use ecc memory. are you using ecc memory?

with more information will help..

Based on the stats you HAVE provided, it sounds doubtful that the “no name” server you’re attempting to upgrade can handle the newer hardware – thus the POST errors…
