 server components do not install !

hi i tried to install ms sql server 2005 enterprise edition on win xp media center,but it doesn't install server components,and when installed,it doesn't find any server on my computer , and mycomputernameSQLEXPRESS do not work . but my friends installed the same version of ms sql server,on the same os and it works !!! what should i do to have a sql server installed and i can work with.

Answer Wiki:
Enterprise Edition and Express Edition are not the same thing. Enterprise Edition will not install on a workstation OS - Express Edition will. Likely that is what your friend has installed, and likely what you intended to install since your named instance was SQLEXPRESS.
