Windows Server 2003 internet problems
i'm running windows server 2003 standard edition with websense 6.2 running, the problem is that i can't connect to the internet to download the database for websense, the users can log on, and websense is blocking sites. all the ip addresses are correct and such, was able to get on since last week, need help..

have you tried disabling the web sense service?
may need to set startup to disabled and reboot

Can users log onto the internet? If they can’t, then I would see if I can ping http://www.google.com to see if the internet is working (networking side). If it responds, then I would assume that restarting your websense system to see if it just comes back up.
Aquacer0 yes users can log onto the internet, so it’s working, i’ve tried restarting the server but still no luck, it’s just the server that can’t get onto to the internet, can’t even download updates or log on with a browser, even the on the intranet sites we have here.
From the server at the command line, see if you can ping http://www.google.com.
ping could not find google
Can you ping another computer on the network as well as the gateway?
no i can’t ping another computer..
I would check cabling and then check it’s iP configuration. Also think about moving it to a different network port if possible. i”ve seen ports just “die”.
Can you provide some deatails about your network ?
How do other machines connect to the internet ?
How does this server connect to the internet ?
Is this server acting as a proxy for other machines ?
Was this server able to connect to the internet before ?
